North Carolina has so many beautiful wedding venues, and they all are unique in what they offer to couples. Before you make this investment, consider working with a local Wedding Planner to create a complete budget overview.  This way, you have an accurate idea of what you are spending, as well as any financial surprises, before you make this large investment.

Today, we are sharing a few ideas for wedding venues in North Carolina that will keep your venue budget under $1000. 

With so many options for local wedding venues, there is a lot to think about when making this decision. Traditional wedding venues typically include everything you need for wedding day. This can be a wonderful investment in your overall budget. When considering locations that are not traditional wedding venues, you will want to consider what you will need to adjust to ensure the space is set up for an event. As an example, it’s important to remember that if your venue doesn’t include items such as tables & chairs, you will need to budget for having those items delivered from a local rental company. You will also want to think about  how you will get to the venue, as most of these suggestions are not set up for getting ready on site. 

If you find yourself frantically searching for the average cost of a wedding in North Carolina and wondering if there are alternatives, don’t stress. Know that there are many unconventional options that couples can utilize. If you are feeling overwhelmed, consider bringing on a professional to streamline the planning process and help you maximize your budget. 

Here are five local resources you can use to find venues in North Carolina priced under $1000: 

Check out state owned parks and buildings. Often you can find unique rental facilities for a very minimal hourly cost. There are some beautiful state owned venues near Raleigh with both indoor and outdoor options. Depending on the type of facility, sometimes tables and chairs are included, which is an additional cost saver. 

Inquire with a locally owned restaurant and offer them a buyout. If your favorite local restaurant doesn’t have a private space for events, ask if they will consider a buyout. Many restaurants rent their space for a set monetary minimum, which you can then meet by serving food and alcohol at your reception. With this option, rental costs are typically less as well. Often restaurants will include items such as linens and glassware that you won’t have to rent offsite. 

Consider a local hotel or Inn.  Hotels have meeting rooms that you can rent for your event. These spaces are already set up for events, and are fantastic options for couples looking for an all inclusive venue experience. Your wedding guests can even stay onsite, and they don’t have to worry about transportation after your reception. 

Look into utilizing local educational facilities. These include colleges, theaters or physical facilities. Many private theaters or studios rent their space on an hourly basis during off hours. With a little transformation, these facilities can serve as excellent wedding venues. 

Rent out a brewery! This one feels like less of a secret and we are sure you already know. You’ve likely discovered this in your venue search already. Breweries make fantastic wedding venues! There are several local breweries that double as venues throughout North Carolina.

Your guide to NC weddings during Covid restrictions. 

Currently planning a wedding in North Carolina during Covid restrictions? Save this post! This page will be updated as Covid guidelines for gatherings in North Carolina continue to change.

Planning your wedding can be overwhelming even in the best of times. For the past year, we have helped our couples navigate planning their weddings through ever changing mandates, restrictions, and safety procedures. It’s been a tough emotional year for so many couples planning their weddings. Today, we are sharing a few tips to help you navigate through planning NC weddings during covid restrictions.

First, while we have some helpful tips in this post, please refer to the NCDHHS website for specific information regarding the Covid-19 response. The following tips are to assist couples navigating these guidelines from an event planning perspective.

The following are some helpful tips for couples planning NC weddings during covid restrictions. 

Keep your guest list small. Current guidelines allow for up to 50% of the venue occupancy, with a maximum of 250 guests. It is important to note that each venue will have a different occupancy of what they can hold with this 50% allowance. For most venues, we have found that this current guest occupancy of 50% is closer to about 150 guests. Mass Gatherings can now be hosted with 100 people inside, and up to 200 people outside. Check with your specific venue to see what is the maximum guest count they are permitted to host for your upcoming event.

Seat your guests by pod.

This guideline has been relaxed at most venues, however you will still want to check with your guests to see what their comfort level is for the dinner hour. Families can sit together during the ceremony, cocktail hour, as well as dinner. Guidelines have opened up so that cocktail hour is now permitted for up to 200 people outdoors, and 100 people indoors. You can also plan to have guests move directly from the ceremony, to the reception, if you prefer to not have guests mingle. It is no longer a  requirement to seat tables by pod, so build your seating chart based on what  makes the most sense.

Post clear signage for guest instruction.

The best way to communicate expectations to your guests about the guidelines surrounding your day is to have clear signage posted for guest instruction. Our team has Covid signage down to a science! We can even style this in a cohesive way, so as to not take away from the overall vision of the day.

Collect guest email addresses for contact tracing.

Many venues are starting to require a health screening to be filled out by guests the week of your wedding. Often times, venues require email addresses, for contact tracing purposes. When you create your RSVP cards, include a space for an email address. Then, create a guest list by pod for your venue. That way, guests will likely only have to walk into a temperature screening on wedding day, and will be able to avoid having to fill out any additional paperwork on wedding day.

Wear a mask when indoors.

While occupancy numbers and pod seating may continue to change, we are confident this guideline will remain through the summer. We know mass gatherings can quickly turn into super spreader events, and wearing a mask is a simple way to protect your community. If you are planning to get married in the spring or summer of 2021, plan for you and your guests to mask up before hitting the dance floor. 

Here is the exciting potential update: Want  to ditch the mask? Get your people vaccinated!  Once NC reaches a rate of two-thirds of our population being vaccinated, and trends remain stable, North Carolina will lift the indoor mask mandate. Hire professional wedding vendors.

Throughout this upcoming year, we know safety measures will still need to be followed during mass gatherings. If you are planning to host an event in 2021, bringing on a professional, experienced team to handle your wedding day details will greatly decrease the opportunity for issues to arise.

Last fall, we had the opportunity to celebrate wedding day at the Bradford, with a couple that is near and dear to our hearts. We love this thoughtfully designed wedding venue and all that it has to offer couples. This was our final wedding at the Bradford before the addition of their beautiful new ballroom, which now allows us the opportunity to celebrate with even more guests! We just loved dressing up a clear top tent from our friends at Grand Rental Station for dinner under the market lights. Hathaway Floral Design created the most magical florals that is sure to stop your scrolling. Dreamy! 

Chelsea & Ben were a joy to plan with!

At our meetings we often enjoyed talking through design, details, and overall learning about how the couple wanted to spend their wedding day at the Bradford. It was always focused on one thing: the people!!!

You can see from these beautiful moments captured by JP Lord, that the couple was certainly surrounded by love on wedding day. 

After spending months of thoughtfully planning a delightfully detailed event for their guests to enjoy, Chelsea & Ben celebrated a beautiful weekend at The Bradford, surrounded by friends & family.

Guests lovingly watched as the couple said their vows in a sea of flowers. We joined in smiles & laughter as the father of the bride shared the most heartfelt toast while guests enjoyed dinner under the twinkling market lights. When Chelsea & Ben shared their first dance, tears of happiness streamed. We are so grateful for the opportunity to share in beautiful moments like this with our sweet couples!

As this evolving situation continues to shift , we want to reassure our beloved community, we are here for you, ready to help you navigate with purpose & clarity. A few weeks ago, we had the joy of welcoming couples out to a local Raleigh wedding venue for our spring showcase: The Pavilion Experience!

We were so excited to host this unique event with vendors in our community, and even more excited to share this special day with you all today! A huge thank you to The Pavilion at Carriage Farm for being amazing hosts for this event. Hugs to our dear friend Sarah Reaves Photography for capturing this beautiful day in the best way! 

We kept things personal & intentional,  bringing together an intimate vendor team who came out to showcase their amazing creative talents. We dressed up this local wedding venue in Raleigh, NC, much like we would for a wedding, and focused on three main elements: community, education & connections. 

Couples enjoyed this afternoon from the perspective of attending the reception as a guest at a local Raleigh wedding venue.

Our goal for this experience was for couples to connect with vendors in a relaxed atmosphere, and to give vendors the opportunity to showcase their work in a way that is different from what you find at a traditional wedding show. 

Guests were welcomed into the beautiful Pavilion and greeted with strawberry champagne cocktails before making their way around the reception. From there, couples enjoyed sitting down with our friends DJ Ryan the DJ & The Greenhouse Picker Sisters, to learn about the awesome services they offer. Our sweet friend Jade Marion shared her beautiful talent and dressed up many of our brides with braids & buns. To top off the afternoon, Slice Pie Company & Mama Birds Ice Cream made the perfect sweet treat team for guests to enjoy before jumping into The Party Booth. And can we just take a moment for this custom s’mores bar from Unforgettable Food Affairs y’all…. (YUM!) We are so thankful to all of these awesome professionals, who shared their time & talent with us. What an amazing afternoon this was! 

Our team also hosted a brief educational discussion, and shared the importance of hiring professional vendors when planning your wedding.

We even shared some takeaway tips + tricks for couples to use while planning their own weddings! When plan “B” becomes plan “AHHHHHHmazing”. Get your tissues y’all!! My very own little brother’s wedding at The Pavilion at Carriage Farm is on the blog and we are a big puddle of tears over here, reliving their magical weekend at this local Raleigh wedding venue.

With Hurricane Florence making her own party plans and causing chaos at every turn, these two reminded us that your wedding is soooooo much more than a Pinterest board. 

We started the celebration for this sweet couple well before planning their wedding at this local Raleigh wedding venue, The Pavilion at Carriage Farm.

The couple got engaged in one our favorite cities… Boone! First Bryan popped the question in front of a beautiful mountain backdrop. Then, we celebrated with 50 of their closest friends and started planning the details of their day immediately. It wasn’t long until they had selected most of their wedding day details and things were falling into place beautifully.

Brittany picked out gorgeous shades of blush, champagne, burgundy and cinnamon to complement the warm rustic nature of their Raleigh wedding venue.

The couple knew they wanted to get married on a farm, with a beautiful barn as a backdrop.  With this in mind, we knew The Pavilion at Carriage Farm was the perfect wedding venue for them! Dressed in a stunning lace Leanne Marshall gown and adorned with flowers in her hair, Brittany was a vision. She selected individual bridesmaids dresses for each of her girls, mixing shades of blush as well as burgundy with a dash of sparkle. This wedding day was a bit different from others. As sister of the groom, I had the pleasure of not only playing wedding planner but also standing alongside this amazing lady as she officially became a Maass!! I couldn’t be more proud to stand beside her on this special day… welcome to the family sister! 

The couple said their vows to the sound of the rain on the barn roof, surrounded by some of their closest loved ones. We knew the weather would force our ceremony inside well in advance. With this in mind, we leaned into mother nature and worked with our friends at Belvedere Floral to create one of the most dreamy backdrops we have ever seen. Guest tables were topped with lush greenery and wild dahlias were placed alongside flickering candlelight.

The natural wood cabin feel of this local Raleigh wedding venue, The Pavilion at Carriage Farm, played the perfect tribute to the couples love, found in the North Carolina Mountains. 

Our sweet planner Janel took over the details of the day as lead coordinator. She made sure everything went off beautifully without a hitch…even in a literal hurricane. This lady is a rockstar!! 

We also want to send a virtual hug to all the incredible vendors who showed up and went over and above on this crazy weekend. From our friends who run the delivery trucks, to our incredible caterers at Unforgettable Food Affairs who don’t let anything stop them, to the on site venue team at The Pavilion at Carriage Farm who rocked it out on wedding day, and everyone in between, you guys are a fundamental part of making days like this a beautiful success. WE LOVE YOU.

The team at the Pavilion at Carriage Farm were the kindest hosts we could have asked for and welcomed us for the weekend with open arms.

Kelly and Grayson were married on a beautiful summer day in June, surrounded by their loving friends + family.

This sweet couple was an absolute dream to plan with! We had the pleasure of meeting Kelly while she was venue shopping in the Raleigh area, and was considering a wedding planner to assist her in planning. Kelly had a beautiful vision for her wedding day and together we thoughtfully planned details she knew her guests would enjoy. We are so thankful for the trust Kelly and Grayson put in our team to serve them on this momentous occasion! 

After trusting us as their wedding planner, the couple selected an organic palette rich with deep greens, ivories and accents of gold. 

The beautiful wooden arbor that served as their ceremony backdrop was handcrafted by Kelly’s father and made with love. Grayson‘s grandfather officiated one of the most heartwarming ceremonies that we have ever had the pleasure of being a part of. 

We used organic tones, wood textures, and fresh greenery to bring this design together. We dressed wooden farmhouse tables with greenery and used fresh magnolia leaves as place cards. 

The weather was absolutely perfect, and we were able to utilize the full indoor outdoor space of this local venue. 

We love seeing our sweet couples enjoy this fun and festive time after months of thoughtful planning. We loved this day, and this couple, and hope you enjoy reliving these memories with us! Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Cranfill!
